I Will Survive! School Bag
by Rais ⋅ October 29, 2017
After a long, fun-filled summer break, month of being in the classroom could feels like a major toothache to some. You know: you don’t want it pulled, but it has to happen.
Sometimes, entering a new grade can be an anxiety inducing, exhausting and stressful situation. Here are some items to always keep on hand or carry in your school bag!
Kool-Aid
To remind you that you don’t need to change who you are to fit in with others. They’re kool just the way they are, and so are you.
Bandages
To remind you that the feelings of others and yourself can be hurt easily.
Your Favourite Chocolate Bar
To comfort you when you are feeling sad or alone.
Your Favourite Small Stuffed Animal
To remind you that the classroom is full of kind words and warm, comfortable feelings.
Ruler
To remind you that everyone is unique and will not always measure up to your expectations.
Your Favourite Bow
To let you know true friendship ties together the laughter and the heart.
Glitter
To let you know, even in the darkest moments you can find the positive and sparkle.
Starburst Candy
To remind you that you’re always a star in class, and everyone shines in their own way. (Think about giving the green ones to a friend if you don’t like sour candy, lol!)
Stickers
These will keep you remembering that sticking together and helping each other makes for a better classroom.
Kleenex
There will come a time where you will need to dry someone else’s tears.
Dental Floss
To remind you to “pick out” the good things in your classmates and yourself.
Highlighter Pen
So you will be proud of your bright ideas.
Elastic Band
It’s all about balance. In order to get along with each other, we must all stay flexible, and too much of yourself might cause you to snap.
Eraser
To let you know that it’s OK to make mistakes: everyone does.
