Turning Passion Into A Profession(C)1 Welcomed hundreds of diverse students walked into the Paul O’Regan Hall, Halifax Central Library curious, and excited. They left discovering their career paths and willingness to speak their truth on what they want to be when they grow up.
The magic started from the moment the event opened, with the drumming of the Halifax Multicultural Drummers, next by honouring our land and culture with the honour song performed by Brittany Sue Pennell and the Black National Anthem sung by all. Followed by outstanding and engaging speakers, Honourable Tony Ince, Councillor Lindell Smith, Corey Writes, Dr. Henry Annan, Dr. Olugu Ukpai, Jaleesa Tolliver, Brittany Sue Pennell, and event coordinator and Keynote Speaker Ms. Jessica Bowden M.S.M. Each delivering messages the youth will use and remember for days, weeks and months to come.
Jaw dropping things happen when you connect today’s youth with their dreams and the lady they call Ms. B aka the pipe piper of youth. ENJOY MORE PHOTOS
Seeing is believing, as we witness hundreds of youth become engaged and connecting with the energy that filled the room from keynote speaker, Ms. Jessica Bowden. M.S.M. CEO of the award-winning publication Teens Now Talk magazine, International inspirational speaker and facilitator, founder of Passport 2 Youth Success and =ITY, Inspiring Today’s Youth Societ.
On this day, youth unlocked their right to dream! The event highlighted how the entrepreneurial footprint of today’s youth are quickly changing, how the depth of their career paths is more then settling for playing sports and music, says Bowden. Don’t get it twisted, youth following these paths are taking it to a higher multi-dimensional level. They will play the sports for example, but with goals to own the team or build a better stadium.
