Meet Brandon Todd-Parker and Gee Clarke, the dynamic duo known as Kin Crew.

How did you both get started?

 Brandon and I  met when we were in grade 4, says Gee. We both had a love for music and decided to start creating our own for fun. That later grew to becoming something we wanted to do for the rest of our lives, and here we are today.

We started with the Hip-Hop then made our way into the EDM field and started focusing on dance music and collaborate with another artist to create great music. Our styles were different from most and we were trying to find a stream that works for both of us and the public, and the transition to the dance scene was our best decision.

What challenges have you faced while building your career?

Every challenge possible. From not being talented at all, to being broke and not being able to afford to do music as a career, all the way to not knowing a single person in the industry and having to make everything from scratch, starting with no help. But every step you take, you realize there’s a world of things you still don’t know.

How did you overcome those challenges?

By reverse engineering our goals, being persistent, stepping out of our comfort zone, and doing whatever we had to do to get to the next step. Oh, also by asking questions and making friends with the right people.

 Who or what inspires you?

Our struggles through life inspire us. The fact that we have the ability to become anything we want in life and it all rides on the how hard we work inspires us. We motivate each other to be better every day and keeping like-minded people around you helps you realize that everyone who is successful is just an ordinary person who didn’t take “no” for an answer.

What advice do you have for today’s youth?

I want to be the open book for anyone who wants to do music, anyone who has questions, wants some advice, needs to know how to take their career to the next level, etc. We will always be there on Instagram or in person to help answer their questions and move forward. Never be afraid to reach out. We always respond and we will always give you advice. Everyone can have a piece of the pie; the pie is not going to run out.
