This particular morning, I had my swimming finals, on top of just starting my period. After a successful dive, I took second place and proudly stood on the platform to get my trophy. Later that same day my friends called me over to look at some pictures of the event and there I was standing tall, trophy held high over my head and my tampon string hanging from my bathing suit. Oh, so embarrassing.
