AN THE WINNER IS? Dasia Abbey – Truro, Nova Scotia “After last year’s BEE, I knew coming into this Spelling BEE competition, I would be up against some stiff competitors. I studied hard and it feels good to know, that hard work really can pay off,” says relieved contestant no.9 Dasia Abbey.

My advise for anyone wanting to compete next year would be, first keep coming back. I was here last year and never won.
- Learn a word a day.
- Find ways to make studying fun.
- Be committed and dedicated, it will paid off.
I also would encourage all spellers that step on the stage to be proud of yourself. You already won because you SHOWED UP!
