Are teens ready for university? That’s not the question you should ask. It’s like saying, “Are adults ready for parenting?” You can’t ask that sort of question because it is stereotyping an age group. You can’t say that all teens are ready for university and you can’t say none are. Just like how some adults never have kids, some have 12. Just because you’re a certain age doesn’t mean you are or aren’t ready for something. Yes, some teens are reckless and rowdy and rude. But is that the excuse for forgetting the ones who aren’t? University is a big step in a child’s life, and a person may be ready at 18, but that’s not saying they don’t need help to figure out that they are ready for this.
