Dear Diva
Some of my friends’ smoke and they are bugging me to try it. I keep telling them “NO” but now they’re getting mean and have started to call me names like “coward” and “chicken.” What should I do? I don’t want to smoke.

Dear Dear Dazed
I pat you on the back for standing up for yourself and saying “NO.” You know there are better things you can spend your money on. Not to mention you’ll have brighter white teeth and healthy lungs. So, the next time they bug you to smoke, educate them on why you’ve chosen not to smoke. Now about the name calling… I find the names people call others are really about how they feel about themselves. Look closely at your friends and see if they are people you really want to be hanging with.
